About
Welcome, my name is Elzmarie Eckert.

I am a Licensed Massage Therapist practicing in Maryland.

My intention for my practice is to help people find safety, ease and joy in being embodied.

In my personal experience, the more embodied we are able to be, the more we are able to heal. It is during this alchemical process that we open to our innate gifts so that they become available to us to explore and share.

I specialize in supporting people with healing from trauma, by helping them create the conditions in their body and mind that allow for greater levels of somatic, musculoskeletal and cellular connection and synergy. I aim to facilitate deep levels of embodied being, to help people bring themselves from dis-ease to ease, and help heal the relationship between mind, body and spirit. I believe that when we feel safe and affirmed enough to fully live in our bodies, deeper healing can take place, beyond what we know or believe to be possible. In my own experience, I know that it can be hard to be seen, heard and affirmed in the medical and wellness industries, and I hope to be a positive force for progress in the field.

Some of the ways I describe my work are: subtle, gentle, solid and deep. I have been described as a ninja, who works with a calming and nurturing presence, and sneaks into the deeper layers of tissue with a great amount of ease.

For my training, I attended Potomac Massage Training Institute (PMTI) in Silver Spring, MD, graduating in February 2017. At PMTI, I accumulated two years of hands-on practice, and studied 628 hours of Swedish circulatory massage and Deep Tissue techniques. As well, I learned to integrate Myofascial release techniques, Trager techniques, Energy work, Shiatsu techniques and other modalities into my work.

During school, my volunteer work took place at Fox Chase Rehabilitation and Nursing home, Lisner-Louise-Dickson Hurt Home, The Children's Inn at NIH, the Multi-Racial Healing Space with Black Lives Matter at the Women's March in January 2017, and the Silver Spring Village volunteers.
Through my own journey to wellness, I have found that when we are truly seen, affirmed and feel safe to be embodied, we can bring our whole selves into the world. Whether your goal is to let yourself receive one hour of relaxation, supplement your exercise regimen, or receive help in healing from trauma, I look forward to supporting you in your process and journey.

Thank you for visiting and I look forward to hearing from you.
